First, be sure you used the email address the developer registered with. You can only invite developers who are already registered with Developer.MicroBilt.com.

When invited, a developer will not receive an email. Instead, they should log into the site and go to Manage Companies under their Account drop-down. They can accept their invite there.

  • What's the difference between my Developer account and a "Company"?

What's the difference between my Developer account and a "Company"?

When you first register with the site, you're creating a personal developer account.

If you're working on behalf of a company or client, we recommend you set up a
"Company" in the site (go to your account drop down and select Manage Companies).

A "Company" account lets you set up a separate billing and subscriptions for that company or client. You can also invite other developers to use API keys associated with that account while maintaining the security of your own separate personal developer account.

Are my Developer and Company API subscriptions the same?

No. Any API keys or account balances you have associated with your developer account will not be available to your company accounts (or developers invited to those companies).

To associate an API key with a company, you should go to Manage Companies, choose or create a company, and then subscribe to keys and add money to your payment balance there.

  • What is the difference between an API and an API Product?

API stands for Application Programming Interface, which is a software intermediary that allows two applications to talk to each other. An API product bundles resources (such as API proxies) in order to provide a specific level of access and functionality for client app developers. On the other hand an API product typically specifies a list of API proxies, along with access limits, API key approval method, and other configuration that should be in place for all of the bundled proxies.

The Manage Companies feature under My Account is a convenient way to set each client business up as a separate ‘sub account’ under your master MicroBilt Developer account. By creating a Company profile for each of your clients, you can add money to separate accounts for separate businesses. This makes it easier to track costs and managing billing.
